GABE KARP

Gabe joined Lightbank in January 2020. Gabe is also a Partner at Detroit Venture Partners, a Detroit-based venture capital firm that backs early-stage technology companies. He serves on several boards of companies in the DVP portfolio and has acted in an executive and/or consultative capacity in several of them to support strategic direction and growth. He frequently speaks on building cultures optimized for success, leadership development, and conflict management.

Previously, Gabe was the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of ePrize, Inc. (now HelloWorld, Inc.), an interactive promotions company representing 75 of the top 100 brands in the world. Gabe was instrumental in growing the company to 500 employees and led multiple operations teams. He led the efforts on multiple acquisitions, venture financings, credit facilities, and ultimately the sale of the company to a large private equity firm. Gabe has personally overseen the legal clearance of more than 13,000 interactive promotions in 44 countries for many of the largest brands in the world with zero legal challenges. Gabe spent the first decade of his career as a partner and shareholder of Hurwitz, Karp, Wallach and Gantz, P.C., where he specialized in class action litigation, commercial litigation, and legal malpractice.
